I submit all Christians are followers of Jesus Christ, but not all "followers" are indeed born again Christians. One can act like Jesus in terms of service all day long, but if their hearts have not been regenerated, than all of their work is in vain.

Perhaps you could ask you pastor what he means by that and whether his learning to follow Jesus has any significance to his salvation, e.g. is he trying to show himself to be worthy of God's grace. None of us are worthy, so any efforts on our part to show God we are worthy is also done in vain. His grace is unmerited; otherwise, it wouldn't be grace at all.Justin Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03212136847196280505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2489806986894326735.post-1150365604120594272010-08-04T09:57:28.912-04:002010-08-04T09:57:28.912-04:00Thank you for this article. My former pastor (I don't think he is one now) has as his religious views on Fb-learning to follow Jesus. I don't know if it's the same thing or not. The thing that disturbs me is he never shares his faith on FB like others do. I know when I have checked his interests before he had some Emergent authors listed as his favorites. Thanks again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
